We rely on the help of passionate community members to serve our teens and carry forward our mission. We offer weekly, monthly, or one-time opportunities, both in-person and virtually.

Volunteer Opportunities

Support Group Assistant

Invest directly in the lives of teens during group programs. You’ll be trained to assist or facilitate a group, creating a safe environment for teens to share what’s going on in their lives and get support from their peers.
Time Commitment: One year, 2-3 hrs/week

Driver

Help solve the number one barrier to teen participation in TreeHouse programs- transportation. Provide rides to teens before and after weekly programs. According to TreeHouse COVID Safety Guidelines, all teens and drivers must wear masks in vehicles. Number of teens per vehicle is limited to accommodate social distancing. Personal vehicle and insurance required. If applicable, drivers may be trained to drive a TreeHouse van.

Time Commitment: 3-6 months, 2-3 hrs/week

Mentor

Provide consistent influence and guidance through one-to-one mentoring and enjoy the journey of seeing life transformation in a teen’s life. Training is provided.

Time Commitment: One year, 3-4 hrs/month

TreeHouse Next Coach

Join us in coaching teens both in small groups and potential 1:1 settings to help teens develop an educational or vocational path for the future. Assist teens in the areas of: ACT preparation; essay writing; college or vocational school applications; financial aid; resume/interview preparation; and guidance for the transition after high school. Training and Curriculum provided.

Time Commitment: Sept 2021-May 2022,  Coaching on either the third Tuesday/Thursday each month at the assigned TreeHouse location

TreeHouse Next Tutor

Help students 7th-12th grade navigate their school work and spend time monthly assisting them in subjects like math, science, reading/english, writing. 

Time Commitment: Sept 2021-May 2022, meeting on either the third Tuesday/Thursday each month at the assigned TreeHouse location.

TreeHouse Next Alumni Coach

Join us in supporting our teens who have chosen their next step and are off to college or a career. Assist alumni in academic support, career exploration, interview and resume preparation and encouragement in their chosen path. TreeHouse Next staff support provided.

Time Commitment: September 2021-May 2022, coaching 1x/every month or every other month- for one hour (In person or Zoom)

Meals for Teens

Help feed hungry TreeHouse teens! Prepare a meal at home or on-site and serve 25-35 teens before programs. This is a great project for families, friends or a small group.

Time Commitment: one-time opportunity

Community Development Team Member

The Community Development Team (CDT) is comprised of 10-12 caring adults who assist their local TreeHouse in stewarding the mission and values of TreeHouse to the community through volunteer engagement, community engagement, and fundraising. During the pandemic, committee meetings are happening virtually.

Time Commitment: one year, 2-5 hours/month

 

Prayer Team Member

Invest in the lives of TreeHouse teens and staff by praying for them regularly.  We’ll keep you updated with current, specific prayer requests.  This opportunity is virtual.

Time Commitment: six months, 1 hr/week

Cleaning and Maintenance

During the pandemic, help us meet increased safety standards.

Time Commitment: varies

 

Facilities: Our meeting spaces need to be cleaned between groups. Help encourage staff during this time by investing 30 minutes a week.  Supplies provided.  Mask required.

 

Vans: Our vans require cleaning before and after each use, as well as regular TLC to keep them running and enjoyable to travel in. Quarterly, they require a deep clean to vacuum, shampoo carpets and seats, clean windows and tires, and perform other interior maintenance.

 

Yard Work/Landscaping: Assist with various landscaping projects or help with routine maintenance by raking leaves, trimming trees, removing snow, gardening, or pulling weeds.
