Osheta Moore

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Osheta Moore

Pastor / Author / Speaker

Osheta Moore is a trained Spiritual Director living on Dakota land in St. Paul, MN. She is an appointed Moravian pastor; she and her husband shepherd a community of “misfits on a mission, finding our identity in Jesus” called Roots Moravian Church.

Osheta has authored two books, Shalom Sistas: Living Wholeheartedly in a Brokenhearted World and Dear White Peacemakers: Dismantling Racism with Grit and Grace. In her writing, she calls us to own our Belovedness, proclaim the Belovedness of others (especially those marginalized and harmed by oppressive systems), so that we can become genuine expressions of the Beloved Community right where we are.

As a Spiritual  Director, she holds gentle, loving space for quiet and listening inspired by her favorite theologian, Howard Thurman, “In the stillness of quite, if we listen, we can hear the whisper of the heart giving strength to weakness, courage to fear, hope to despair.”

On a fun, personal note: Osheta describes herself as an ESFJ mama who loves parties, people, and popcorn with red wine. A pastor who is convinced God has a sense of humor. A Peacemaker who loves Jesus a lot and cusses… just a little. An optimistic cookbook reader.  A hopeless romantic and a goofball with a little bit of sass.
